Why Dialogue Is Important , Personally and Professionally

During these unprecedented times, we acknowledge  that there things outside of our control. However, there are also things we can change and influence. When you decide to focus on those things in your control to influence and change, you just may see the glass half full.

There is a lot of noise and fog to see through the “here and now” restricted environment at the moment. It is worth flying your Drone to get a perspective of where  you are and try to see the other side of this period you are in.

The  “drones eye view” or the dialogue you share with your network could focus on the evidence of:

  • Improved treatment practices for Covid and lower per capita mortality rates despite a wave of infections

  • Encouraging signs from vaccine trials

  • Stimulus support from government that will continue in some form (despite your political leanings)

  • No benefit whatsoever in prophesising and behaving as if your future is totally nuked

4 Ways to Cope During Uncertain Times

So if this is a reasonable perspective and a way to cope then what behavioural change could you be making both personally and professionally?

  • Nurture family and friends, adopt an RUOK approach to stay in touch and connected.

  • Nurture clients, start a dialogue that goes to what do they need now and going forward which will probably be different than before.

  • Don’t think you need to have all the answers, just the dialogue is healthy and will lead to different thinking now or in the future.

  • Hunt out examples of businesses that have been agile and share those with your community and start a ripple of new “positive drones eye view” thinking"

Adopt a When not If mindset and be proactive in what you do.
Make things happen for others and for you.

What approach have you taken in your business during the past months? Please share in the comments, I would be interested to know.
