IN-PERSON YTM End of Year Dinner: The value of conversation, connection and community

The end of the year is an ideal time for self-assessment, both personal and professional. Let's take this opportunity to reflect.

Consider your relationships, both personal and in your work life, what you have learned and what do you want to add into the coming year.

Consider where you have been and where you want to go. Review your accomplishments and the challenges you have navigated.

This is a constructive practice, especially in community with others who ‘get’ you.

  • What have been some of the positives of the past year or two?

  • What have you found the most difficult?

Connection and community are important for both our health and welfare, personally and professionally. Many have struggled. It has not only been businesses that have needed support. Having a supportive network and being connected can make all the difference.

Join us for dinner and conversation, as we reflect on the past year and celebrate nine years of YTM evolution, bringing together business owners, like you, who value connection and community.

Celebrate how we have called upon each other and our inner strength to journey through the toughest of times over the past year.

The different setting and environment strengthen existing relationships and attracts our loyal and friendly community, and many new faces, too.

Insight: BE BRAVE: PROTECT YOUR MOST IMPORTANT BUSINESS ASSET

After the past two years, and in general, many small business owners feel like they need to constantly push themselves, rather than making time for themselves and looking after their health and well being.

Working excessive hours per week building your client base, directing  your team, and managing the operations  and  keeping your customers happy places high demands on you, both mentally and physically.

You need to protect your business’ greatest asset- YOU!

You need to be brave, say no and take control.

Your time matters, your business matters and your health matters even more!

When you are your business, you don’t have a choice.

When you take care of yourself, it means you can take care of your business.

Hear from our panel as they share their stories, knowledge and strategies that you  may think seem inconsequential and selfish but they are key to

  • staying focused,

  • remaining productive,

  • making better decisions, for you, your family and your business
    and

  • showing up authentically for your team and customers.

ONLINE- Lunch and Learn : Conversion 101 in 2021

ONLINE- Lunch and Learn : Conversion 101 in 2021

“Why should I invest time and money in attending “YTM Lunch and Learn sessions”?

Because …technical “know- how” in your business is not enough.

Being able to ask questions and learn from our subject matter experts increases your knowledge and understanding, allowing you to reflect and review to make informed decisions for your business strategy. To often, business owners and professionals do not know, what they do not know, or that there is a better way! !

May Insight: Conversion 101 in 2021

In business, one of our main focuses should always be on having a solid, consistent sales process.

When times are good, lots of businesses get a bit complacent about going through the motions of the sales process, or treating every customer conversation the same. But the current climate is way too competitive to allow for this kind of complacency. Every deal counts more than ever. You can't be improvising your sales process right now. You can’t assume that every customer who contacts you is ready and eager to buy.

During this Workshop, you’ll learn a proven sales process plus other strategies from Ashleigh that account for every stage of your customer’s journey, that will bring about more conversions, such as:

  • Initial contact and discovery stage

  • Preliminary phone calls

  • Stakeholder conversations

  • Q&A with decision-makers

  • Closing The Deal

Insight: REVIEW & RESET -MOVING FORWARD

With the end of this extraordinary year approaching, it is time to review and reset for 2021.

Join Kerryn and Leigh Powell , for discussion and guidance , tips and tricks….and sharing within the group.

What has worked, what could you improve , what could you let go of.

Facilitated by the YTM Team - experienced Mentors with diverse backgrounds and network want to help and support you to grow.

Leigh Powell, Business Strategist and Mentor.- joined Your Time Matters as  a Business Strategist and Mentor in 2016.

“Having talked to a lot of small business owners and people in the corporate environment, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say, “Tell me what to do.” Most of them know what they want to achieve and they need help exploring the implications and thinking through the details. That’s why I call myself a mentor rather than a coach.

My role is to help you lean into what you know you should do, take responsibility for it, and turn it into a profitable strategy. How do I do this? Well, asking questions is the first step: discovering where you are and where you want to be, learning about your networks, resources, budget, cashflow, constraints, and more…

From my perspective (after thousands of conversations with professionals, small business owners and corporate executives) it’s my privilege to work with people as they share their dreams, their drivers and their demons to find that light bulb moment where they suddenly realise they have the solution.”

Kerryn Powell- The Network Catalyts and founder o YTM-

“For thirty years I have been working as a catalyst for change. Fundamentally I believe relationships are the key to achieving growth, and relationships grow from conversations that build mutual understanding and trust. Relationships can also provide access to the knowledge and experience we need. Because of this, I invest my time:

  • Boosting people’s capacity to participate in effective face-to-face communication

  • Gathering like-minded people together to explore the unexpected synergies that emerge through sharing personal and professional stories

  • Providing guidance and support to help people move forward with purpose and accountability.

  • Creating a program that provides personal and professional development opportunities - because learning matters!

I want you to be able to find the pathways to access the knowledge and support you need and encourage you to see that every conversation counts.”

ONLINE- Business Networking -Collaborate and Connect- Insight: "Collaboration vs Referral"

instagram covers (11).png

Fostering relationships with like minded business owners is definitely a large part of  referral networking. However, as a business owner or professional you also benefit by collaborating with others to solve a problem, either within your own business or to better assist your client.

So what are the differences between collaboration and referral, and how can you make it work for your business?

You will hear from experienced business owners as they share their learnings on collaboration and referral.

Jane Libbis is an experienced family lawyer and partner at Umbrella Family Law.  She is a collaboratively trained lawyer used to working in teams of professionals and is a fan of networking and sharing referrals.  Jane will share her experiences of both working with others and referring to others.

Hear from Meirav Dulberg , Webby Web Design and Clare Blackstock, Blade Creative who have been successfully collaborating for more than 5 years. In fact they worked together to create Jane’s website!

Who is this event for?

  • Business owners and professionals who have an open and collaborative approach and willingly recognise the value in and benefit gained from shared experience with others facing similar scenarios.

  • Business owners and professionals wanting to learn and grow as they  connect with others to build a sustainable network as they  benefit by reframing experience.

  • YTM participants come with diverse business and life experience which they share and can apply to a variety of situations.

Benefit from-

  1. Connecting with likeminded others with whom you may be able to form future working relationships.

  2. Have a space to share and test your insights/expertise with people facing similar challenges.

  3. Develop an open and collaborative approach, and increase your connections

  4. Recognise the value of collaborating and connecting with others in similar scenarios

  5. Improve your understanding of the difference between Collaboration vs Referral" and how to use both in your business.

Format

Our structured, online format, encourages participants to make the most of their  time with open networking on arrival, followed by facilitation that encourages connection and open, real discussion.

In break out rooms, there will be time to discuss the differences you have  experienced and the lessons you have learned about referral and collaborative  relationships.   By giving examples of a good referral for you, and a good collaboration, you and others will benefit from shared knowledge.

On registration you will asked to nominate  your two preferred groups (not guaranteed)  where you can add value and build sustainable relationships with others who in the future you may collaborate with.

For example-  If you are in involved in marketing, communications,  branding, design- you may choose to work with clients on their “Visibility”.

Or, If you work in HR, Training, Coaching, IT …you may choose Performance.

Choose your preferred 2 groups from

  • Visibility

  • Lifestyle

  • Productivity

  • Compliance

  • Performance

If you are unclear, our expertise will guide you  based on our 6 years of experience in running events and witnessing interactions of more than 2500 participants.

Participants attending the event, will benefit from the ideas, experience and shared skills individually and as a group.  Takeaways are intended to be the central ideas, lessons, connections and skills others  will learn by the sharing of  expertise. The collective  outcomes  will clearly indicate how the plan will help the “client”  build a better business and how the group would benefit from collaborating in  similar situations.

Kerryn’s events are exceptional. I’ve been to a number of networking events over the years and why I like YTM is because you really do get to meet and connect with other people and build relationships, which I love. Its not at all transactional and you can meet a group of people who are all looking to grow their business and themselves, and the potential to create referral is excellent. The formats vary each even between a number of different styles meaning the personal learning is there as well.”- L.Ayers

”YTM events always run like clockwork. I have found them to be extremely beneficial… I have made some amazing connections not only with people who have booked in for my organising services, but also with some fantastic and professional people to affiliate my business with. I’ve even made some good friends. Highly recommended!”- Sue Glasser - PaperClip Professional Organisers
